NEPSE: Turnover rises as market declines, boom in hotels and microfinance

The stock market index NEPSE decreased by 2.73 points on Thursday. After the decline of that number, NEPSE has remained at 2004. Although the index has decreased, the turnover has increased. The previous day’s total turnover was Rs 2.53 billion, today it was Rs 3.3 billion.

A total of 106 companies increased in value, 128 decreased while 11 remained stable. On this day, enthusiasm was seen in the hotel tourism and microfinance groups. The hotel and tourism group increased by 1.67 per cent while the microfinance group increased by 2.38 per cent. The manufacturing group decreased the most by 1.61 per cent.

Banking dropped by four, Development Bank by 21, Hydropower by 14, Life Insurance by 16, Manufacturing by 110 and other groups fell to eight points. However, business increased by three, non-life insurance by 29, microfinance by 94, hotel by 86 and finance group by six points.

The prices of Manushi, Mankamana Smart and Gurans Microfinance increased by 10 per cent. The price of Taragaon Regency increased by 9.9 per cent, and Win Nepal Microfinance by 9.2 per cent. Lakshmi Microfinance increased by 8.2 per cent, Mahuli Microfinance by 6.9 per cent, and CYC Microfinance by 6.8 per cent.

The price of People’s Power decreased by 7.2 per cent. The price of Sarbottam Cement decreased by 5.8 per cent, River Falls Power by four per cent, and Emerging Nepal by 3.4 per cent. Based on the transaction amount, Gorkha’s Finance, Shivam Cement, Sarbottam Cement, Suryajyoti Life Insurance and Sonapur Cement were ahead respectively.
